Welcome to Rayleigh Cricket Club

Rayleigh Cricket Club, founded in 1902, has its home ground at Rawreth Lane, just outside Rayleigh in Essex. Over the last 100 years or so the club has gone through many changes and at present it is stronger than ever. Currently there are six Saturday teams, four of which will play in the T Rippon Mid Essex League in Divisions Two, Five, Nine and Eleven in the 2008 season. There is also a Sunday XI plus one Under 9, two Under-11, two Under-13 and two Under-15 sides.

Our league results in 2007 were excellent with both the 1st and 2nd XI winning their divisions, whilst the 3rd XI won Division 10 in 2006. The project to build a new home ground and pavillion, also at Rawreth Lane, is complete. The new wicket was laid in Spring 2002 and the 1st and 2nd XI's played all their home fixtures on the new ground in 2007. The new pavillion is now complete and has been in full use from he 2005 season. We now have all-weather nets, laid in 2006.

The Club's youth policy is well developed now and the Under 11's and Under 13's had an excellent season both getting to the final of the South Essex District competition. Quite a number of good young players are coming through to the senior teams, with ex-colts now playing regularly in the First and Second XIs.
