Alcossebre is situated on the Orange Blossom Coast and is set in a typical picturesque region of Costa Del Azahur. The magic of Spain will hit you as soon as you step off the plane, the months of February and September are when the scent is at its most intoxicating. In the village you can find all the shops, bars and restaurants you could need and is less than 10 minutes walk. Here you can enjoy the wonderful sandy beaches which have won Blue European Flags, making them a fantastic place to spend time relaxing.
Just to the north you have Las Fuentes. There are more shops, restaurants and also boasts a man made marina with another beautiful beach. Here in the summer you can hire jet skis and scuba equipment and go out to the island sanctuary a few miles off shore. Tennis, horse riding and cycling are all available within the local community. Just a short drive and you have the small towns of Alcala de Chivert and Benecarlo with its daily fish and vegetable market. |
Castellon, the largest town in the area is just 20 minutes drive away. A further short drive inland and you are in the mountains Maestrazgo where you can find small villages which have not changed for centuries and where you can eat the wonderful Tapas and barbequed meats from the area.
Peniscola is worth a visit for its fantastic beach and historic castle where the Charlton Heston epic El Cid was filmed. The old town is nestled within the castle walls and has many traditional Tapas bars and restaurants. For the holiday-maker of all ages there is much to do. Alcossebre and Las Fuentas have three beautiful Blue European Flag beaches were there is wind surfing and scuba diving. There is horse riding and yachting, tennis courts and a man made marina at Las Fuentes which is home to boats of all sizes and has many popular traditional bars and restaurants. |
